Spring and new Perfumes: how much better can it get?

Quem me conhece sabe que o perfume, ou melhor, os perfumes são uma dos meus gostos incontornáveis. Escolher o perfume que vou usar em determinado dia pode demorar 1 segundo ou 1 minuto… Por vezes, é instintivo, acordo e já sei qual o perfume que está de acordo com o meu humor… Outras vezes pergunto-me: quem é que eu sou hoje? A profissional despachada? A mãe com mil tarefas por cumprir? A rebelde que gosta de sair da zona de conforto? Seja como for, o acto da pulverização é uma parte inata e religiosamente cumprida na minha rotina diária.
Those who know me well, know that scents are one of my favorite beauty passions. Choosing the perfume I will be using can take 1 second or… 1 minute. Sometimes, I wake up already knowing which one matches my mood. Other days, I ask myself: who am I today? The busy executive? The hundred-task-mommy? The rebel that enjoys leaving her comfort zone? Whichever it is, the act of applying perfume is a religious part of my daily routine.
É fascinante a habilidade que o perfume tem de nos transportar mentalmente até uma lembrança especial, um momento longínquo ou de nos empoderar a ser mais corajosas, femininas, masculinas (why not?), sensuais, desportistas…
Um perfume tem esta capacidade incrível de trazer recordações como se fosse uma máquina do tempo. E, fundindo-se com a nossa pele, é tão pessoal como a imagem de fundo do nosso smartphone, a password do Facebook ou o nosso pedido específico no Starbucks (o meu é: Caramel Macchiato, Tall, leite de amêndoa mas com as natas e, menos quente). Difícil de alguém ter o mesmo, certo?
I find it fascinating how a perfume has the ability to mentally carry us to a special memory, a far gone moment or even to empower and make us feel braver, more feminine, masculine (why not?), sensual, sporty…
A perfume has this incredible ability to bring us back memories as if it were a time machine. Blending itself with our skin it gets as personal as the screensaver of our smartphone, our Facebook password or our special Starbucks request (mine is: Caramel Macchiato, Tall, Almond milk, keep the cream, less warm). Har for someone else to have the same, no?

Porque estamos quase a entrar na Primavera e mal podemos esperar por aromas que combinem com roupas mais leves (apesar da chuva que chegou finalmente) deixo-vos com algumas sugestões das novas fragrâncias que acabaram (ou estão quase) a chegar às prateleiras das perfumarias, corners e farmácias. Notem que eu tenho alguma “aversão” às modas demasiado passageiras no que toca a perfumes… Perco um pouco a paciência (e o crédito) das marcas que já vão na vigésima versão mais fresca, quente, fria… do mesmo perfume mas, por vezes há boas surpresas e, também não gosto de negar logo à partida uma ciência que desconheço 🙂 Keep an open mind and… nose!
Because Spring is around the corner and we can hardly wait for scents that combine with lighter outfits (in spite of the rain that finally arrived), I leave you some suggestions of new arrivals. Be aware that I do have some itches regarding the fast pace of some perfumes launches. I don’t have much patience (or give credit to) brands that are in its twentieth version of the same original scent but… sometimes one can be surprised and I like to keep an open mind and… nose!
