Travel hacks: como fazer a mala de forma fácil

Fazer a mala pode ser um motivo de alegria, um pesadelo e, para mim, uma arte aperfeiçoada há mais de 20 anos. Ser editora de Beleza obriga-me a passar grande parte dos dias em viagem e, juro, já faço malas de olhos fechados. Para as inexperientes na matéria, nunca se esqueçam de começar com três perguntas: para onde vou, quanto tempo vou e porque vou. Assim evitam levar e trazer metade da mala intacta…

Em relação ao recheio, sou muito prática e opto sempre por peças mais básicas e confortáveis. Depois vou compondo os looks com alguns acessórios extra. E em último caso, garanto-vos, um batom resolve tudo!

Mas mais importante do que o conteúdo é, neste caso, a forma como o arrumamos.

Aqui vão algumas das minhas regras de ouro na altura de fazer a mala:

• Coloco as coisas mais pesadas e que se amarrotam menos por baixo.
• A bolsa fixa (onde guardo os carregadores, chave de casa, etc.) e os sapatos ponho por cima. Se ficam na base ocupam demasiado espaço.
• Selo a mala com um lenço ou uma pashmina e aperto as tiras de fixação por cima desta. Assim, não amachuca muito a roupa e  as coisas não andam a dançar durante a viagem.
• Coisas frágeis ou fáceis de perder, como jóias, vão embrulhadas em meias ou dentro de sapatos. Nunca se sabe…
• Deixo um espacinho na mala para trazer eventuais compras e levo sempre um saco mole dentro da mala para trazer compras (im)prováveis (cof, cof, cof).
• Levo sempre sempre fato de banho e roupa de ginástica! Há hotéis onde o ginásio é tão cool que até dá vontade de treinar…
• Além da mala principal, levo também uma mala de mão com um kit de higiene e beleza. Mas só isso é matéria para outro post. 😉

Chegada ao destino:
Se a roupa chegar amarrotada, penduro-a num cabide e deixo na casa de banho enquanto tomo banho. Como acabada de sair da lavandaria!

Packing your bag can be a moment of joy, a nightmare or, for me, a art that has been perfected for the last 20 years. Being a Beauty Editor means spending a lot of time travelling, and I swear, I already pack with my eyes closed. For those who are new to the subject, always remember to ask yourself these three questions: where am I going, for how long and why. This way you avoid taking or bringing your suitcase intact.

As for the filling, I’m very practical and go for essential and comfortable pieces. And then I work the outfits with some extra accessories. And if all fails, I can guarantee that lipstick always does the trick!

But more important than what you pack is how you pack.

Here are some of my golden rules when packing:

• I always put the heavier things, or that don’t wrinkle easily on the bottom.
• The fixed pocket (where I put my chargers, keys, etc) and shoes always go on top. If they sit at the base of your suitcase, they will take up more room.
• I always seal the bag with a scarf or pashmina and tie the fixing cops on top. This way, clothes won’t wrinkle as much and things won’t be dancing during the trip.
• I always leave some extra room for eventual shopping and have a soft bag inside my suitcase for (im)probable items (cof, cof, cof).
• I always pack a swimsuit and workout gear! There are hotels where the gym is so cool, it makes you want to break out a sweat…
• Besides the suitcase, I also take a handbag with a hygene and beauty kit. But that alone is a subject for another post. 😉

When you get to your destination:

If the clothes is wrinkled, I hang it and leave it in the bathroom while I’m taking a shower. It’s like it just left the dry cleaner!
